The 2018 economic IMF health check of the euro area (Euro Area Policies: 2018 Article IV Consultation was published on the 19 July 2018.

In it the economists of the IMF said that the euro area economy was still in a good place. Growth remained strong, broad-based, and job-friendly, even if there were signs that it had peaked. At the same time, risks were rising, including escalating trade tensions and policy complacency among euro area countries. Rebuilding fiscal buffers and addressing structural issues to improve resilience, and building support for euro area reforms was now even more urgent.
