Europe and the challenges of the new television era

Digital TV, the advent of the Internet, the rise of satellite-based channels, the birth of new media giants ... the European TV scene has changed dramatically in recent years. In the face of these new challenges, the European Commission has launched a full review of the EU Television without Frontiers Directive, to be completed by 2002.
