Europe ‘still not ready to cope with flu pandemic’

A European-wide flu pandemic simulation, 'Common Ground', co-ordinated by the UK Health Protection Agency on behalf of the European Commission in November 2005, found that if a flu pandemic were to hit Europe in the next few months, officials would be unable to cope with information overload and the lack of clear co-ordination and decision-making authority.
