Europe to ease animal drug controls

Veterinary scientists in the European Union have agreed a drastic relaxation of controls on the release into the environment of antibiotics and other animal drugs.

News of the change, due to be announced shortly, appears in the magazine New Scientist, which says it has 'stunned environmental regulators'.
