Europe to get its first EU-wide offshore oil and gas law

The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union reached a political agreement on the 21 February 2013 on the European Commission's legislative proposal on the safety of oil and gas operations in the EU. The European Parliament and Council were expected to formally approve the legislation in the coming months.
