European Commission Calls for Further Turkey Accession Talks

EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn told the European Parliament on the 24 October 2007 that the EU should begin further talks with Turkey about its future EU membership in a speech which could provoke a clash with France. President Sarkozy of France opposes full EU membership for Turkey.
