Date: 07/12/1995 ...after allegations that company dealerships had refused to sell cars to foreign nationals. Competition Commissioner Karel Van Miert said his teams were looking for evidence that the block exemption for dealers had been broken. Van Miert won the backing of the Commission yesterday (6 December) for his proposal to grant immunity to companies that blow the whistle on cartels and restrictive practices. Immunity will only be granted if the company involved comes forward early, pledges to continue cooperation with the Commission and is not itself the cartel ringleader. |
