European businesses have accused China of having a public procurement system which excludes foreign businesses and encourages corruption.

This is the first ever report from a business perspective on public procurement in China. The 50 page study offers a detailed analysis of the typical bidding process and common challenges encountered by European companies competing for public contracts in China. The Study contains three sector case studies and draws on the knowledge and experience of the European Chamber’s 1,600 member companies to make recommendations on how to improve regulation of this vital component of China’s economy.
