In 1997, the Environment Directorate-General of the European Commission commissioned a comprehensive multi-sectoral study to identify which environmental issues Europe would be facing in the years to come. The purpose of this ambitious study was also to analyse what would be the environmental and economic consequences to solve or mitigate the environmental problems. The report has now been published. |
