EurActiv reported in October 2015 on the European Parliament's intention to revoke the accreditation of certain big business lobbyists if they proved to be uncooperative. Behind the idea was the unwillingness of some big companies to appear in front of the special tax committee of the parliament.

However, effective results were unlikely to be seen as the existing Transparency Register was built as a shared mechanism with the European Commission, which was not considering the same approach regarding uncooperative lobbyists.
