European Pillar of Social Rights five years on: from principles to concrete action for a strong social Europe

Summary:

The European Commission marked the fifth anniversary of the European Pillar of Social Rights (EPSR) on 17 November 2022 by holding the first European Employment & Social Rights Forum, where it took stock of progress made, and looking ahead to the future.

Further information:

The EPSR was proclaimed by the main institutions of the European Union (EU) at the Gothenburg Social Summit in November 2017. Since then, the commitment was reaffirmed at the 2021 Porto Social Summit by EU leaders, social partners and civil society organisations. The European Commission tabled over 130 initiatives aimed at implementing the Pillar and delivering on a Social Europe.
