European Social Fund: the Commission has adopted the EQUAL programme to support new ways of combating inequality in employment in Dutch-speaking Belgium

Summary:

Anna Diamantopoulou, Member of the Commission responsible for Employment and Social Affairs, signed a decision on 06 April 2001 approving the new EQUAL Community Initiative (CI) programme in the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium, covering the period 2000-2006. Under the programme, the European Social Fund (ESF) provides 32.5 million euro to support experimentation with new ways of combating discrimination and inequality on the labour market.
