The European Union (Amendment) Bill was introduced in the UK House of Commons on 17 December 2007. It paves the way for UK ratification of the Treaty of Lisbon, which was signed on 13 December 2007. Its purpose is to amend the European Communities Act 1972 to the extent that is necessary for the Treaty of Lisbon to have legal effect in the UK. |
