The European Union (Approval of Treaty Amendment Decision) Bill 2012 was introduced in the House of Lords on 10 May 2012 and had its Second Reading on 23 May 2012. It is a short Bill which aims to provide for the Parliamentary approval of European Council Decision 2011/199/EU of 25 March 2011 ('the Treaty amendment Decision'), amending Article 136 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) with regard to a stability mechanism for Member States whose currency is the euro.
