The increasingly rapid pace of change in European Union law has led to the publication of a fourth edition of Wyatt and Dashwood's 'European Union Law' by Sweet and Maxwell.

The latest edition bears a new title to reflect the new European order and the content has been increased by over one hundred pages in order to keep apace with the growing scale and complexities of European Union law. A new section has been incorporated to cover the intricacies of Economic and Monetary Union and the section on subsidiarity has been expanded to explain the new principle of flexibility introduced by the Treaty of Amsterdam. Coverage of the European Court of Justice and the Court of First Instance, and the community legal order has been increased and there is also substantial analysis of the evolution of case law of the Community Courts in areas such as the free movement of goods and persons. There are also chapters which detail the latest legislation in areas such as competition law, state aids, sex discrimination, and education and vocational training.

This book will serve as a useful textbook for general university courses on European Union law but it also provides an in-depth analysis of the main topics of European and economic law, making it suitable for those students on more specialised courses.
