Background and further information: The European Commission held in June 2001 an international workshop on endocrine disruptors with the sponsorship of several high-level national and international stakeholders. It was intended to follow up several of the elements of the Community Strategy for Endocrine Disruptors [COM(1999)706]. In particular, the meeting focused on monitoring, research and development, test methods/testing strategy and international cooperation. The workshop reached a number of important conclusions and made a range of recommendations covering a number of areas. |
