Eurozone woes weigh on Merkel’s majority

The politics of eurozone bailouts for countries such as Cyprus, Greece and Spain is becoming more difficult in Germany ahead of its federal elections in 2013. Chancellor Angela Merkel’s centre-right coalition of Christian Democrats and Free Democrats was said to be anxious about the prospect of voting for yet more financial aid for these countries.
