Ferries stranded at port by Greek strike

Striking Greek seamen blocked island ferries from leaving Piraeus port on the 23 June 2010, defying a court order declaring their 24-hour walk-out illegal.

Railway workers and journalists at state-controlled media outlets also staged stoppages as political tension mounted over a pension and labour reform package due to be debated in parliament the following week.
