Following Brexit, the United Kingdom is no longer to be part of the European Union's Common Fisheries Policy (CFP). It is to become an independent coastal state and be fully responsible for managing fisheries in the UK’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), extending 200 nautical miles (nm) from shore.
