While European cooperation in the field of education and training is voluntary, there is a strategic framework setting objectives to be attained by 2020. A mid-term review was concluded in 2015, and the European Parliament debated a report in June 2016 which praises efforts to take stakeholders' feedback into account and makes a number of recommendations for the future.
