For EU patients, doctors with borders

Politico published on 20 July 2015 a feature on the effectiveness of the European Union's directive on cross-border healthcare.

The directive was adopted in 2011 by the EU institutions and sought to clarify patients' right to health care services outside their home countries. However, the article suggests that the way some member states were implementing the rules might be making matters worse.
