Pension reform is high on the agenda almost everywhere in Europe. The contributions to this Forum outline the different pension systems of selected European countries, providing an assessment of both the reform steps taken so far and the need for further reform.

The Forum consists of six articles:

Didier Blanchet, 'Pension reform in France: Where do we stand?', p244-248; Axel H. Börsch-Supan and Christina B. Wilke, 'Shifting perspectives: German pension reform', p248-253; Oliver Ehrentraut (et al.), 'En route to sustainability: History, status quo and future reforms of the German public pension scheme', p254-257; Richard Disney, 'The United Kingdom’s pension programme: Structure, problems and reforms', p257-262; Marek Góra, 'Adequacy of contributions: The key goal of the Polish pension reform', p263-268; Edward Palmer, 'The way forward for European pension schemes', p268-272.
