France launches EU’s first digital infrastructure ‘project bond’

France launched on the 23 July 2014 the first EU project bond involving digital infrastructure.

The French project is aimed at upgrading ADSL and fibre-optic in sparsely populated rural areas, where setting up high-speed networks is not profitable for private operators.
