France wants to create new EU migration post

Feature discusses a French-led EU plan on immigration presented outlined by French interior minister Bernad Cazeneuve in Brussels on 1 September 2014. He indicated that Italy, Spain, the UK and Germany broadly back the plan following initial consultations.

EUObserver reported that the French strategy included reinforcing the borders of the European Union, setting up better administrative treatment for asylum seekers, dispersing asylum seekers more broadly across hosting member states, and creating a more efficient return policy.
