Article reported that Christine Lagarde, French Finance Minister, would have to wait until at leat the 8 July 2011 to know whether she will be placed under judicial investigation for her role in the award of a €285m payment to controversial businessman Bernard Tapie.

The delay meant that the 24 members of the International Monetary Fund’s executive board would have to consider Ms Lagarde’s candidacy for the post of Managing Director of the IMF before the outcome of the court inquiry is clear.
