Article reports that the future for France’s new-generation nuclear technology has been thrown into doubt after it emerged that GDF Suez, the French utility, is to pull out of the latest European Pressurised Reactor project.

Gérard Mestrallet, GDF Suez Chief Executive, has written to French Prime Minister François Fillon September 2010 to inform the government the company would not take part in the 1600MW EPR project at Penly in north-west France.
