The Georgian government has expelled the special representative of the Council of Europe to the country, Plamen Nikolov. The Georgian foreign ministry declared him a persona non grata over what the Georgian government says was the Council of Europe's unclear position on the crisis in the province of Ajaria in early May 2004. |
