Germany's Defence Minister, Peter Struck, indicated on 12 October 2004 that if conditions in Iraq change, Germany might deploy troops there. Mr Struck's comments appear to provide support for John Kerry, the US Democratic presidential challenger. Mr Kerry has proposed that if elected US President, he would convene an international conference on Iraq - Mr Struck said he would attend such an event. |
