Gib chief to defy Spain with Madrid speech

The Local.es reported that Gibraltar´s Chief Minister Fabian Picard delivered a speech in Madrid on the 3 February 2015 defying disapproval from the Spanish government.

Mr Picardo had been invited to speak at the New Economic Forum on the 3 February 2015, but the event had been cancelled the previous week reportedly after pressure was applied by Spain's Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo. Instead Mr Picardo spoke an an alternative event.
