Google plans new initiative with Euro publishers

Google announced a new digital partnership with eight European publishers of news material on the 28 April 2015. In the new partnership with eight publishers Google will establish a working group to focus on product development as well as providing a €150m innovation fund over three years, alongside additional training and research.

The news publishers include: the Financial Times, The Guardian, Les Echos, NRC Media, El Pais, La Stampa, Faz and Die Zeit. Also involved are: The European Journalism Centre (EJC), the Global Editors Network (GEN) and the International News Media Association (INMA).
