On 2.5.00 the European Court of Human Rights ruled against the UK government in a test case over a suspect's right to remain silent. The Strasbourg court ruled that William and Karen Condron did not receive a fair trial when they were convicted on charges of supplying heroin and possessing heroin with intent to supply it.
