Greek bondholders say time running out / Greek default threat grows as talks falter

Holders of Greek government bonds apply pressure on the 12 January 2012 to eurozone governments and the IMF to conclude a deal on the voluntary restructuring of Greek debt.

However, talks over Greece’s debt restructuring broke down on the 13 January 2012, an unexpected blow that made it increasingly likely that Athens would become the first government of a developed country in more than 60 years to suffer a full-scale default on its debt.
