Greek regional election is vote of confidence in austerity plan / Papandreou demurs over snap poll after regional losses

Report of the local and regional elections held in Greece, 7 November 2010. After the results were declared Greece's Prime Minister George Papandreou dropped his threat to call a snap general election, after his Socialist party avoided a heavy defeat in crucial regional polls, although falling back from the previous situation.
