Reports and analysis of the first round of local and regional elections in Greece on the 18 May 2014. The second round of the local would be on the 25 May 2014, the same day as when Greece would take part in the European Parliament elections. The elections were seen as a test of the coalition government in Greece.

Greece's leftist Syriza party performed strongly in key races of that first round on the 18 May 2014, as voters poured out their anger at the government's austerity policies.
