Green Paper published by the European Commission on 27 January 2021, aimed at launching a debate on the challenges and opportunities of the European Union's ageing society.

This Paper sets out the impact of this demographic trend across the economy and society and invited the public to express their views on how to respond to this in a public consultation, launched alongside its publication. The Green Paper is the first outcome of a previous report on the impact of demographic change, and it launches a debate on the main issues related to ageing in Europe.
