Book abstract:

This is the fourth in the series EIA European Union Information Guides. This guide begins with a brief introduction to the aims of EU competition law and policy, then provides information on sources in nine sections. Section A gives details of general sources on information on competition policy and legislation. Section B lists the founding documents in this area. Section C explains the block exemption regulations. Section D is a list of key Commission notices with references to the Official Journal of the European Communities. Section E describes some 'finding tools' which are commercially produced and which are useful for locating both existing and proposed legislation, competition decisions and ECJ judgments. Section F lists key textbooks and section G recent articles. Issues relating to the UK are covered in Section H, with references to newspaper and journal articles. Finally, section I provides some useful addresses.

Similar to the other guides in this series, this guide is concise and relevant and provides key information in a palatable form. It would be valuable in any information unit whose users require facts on European issues.
Sue Fuller is Librarian at the law firm of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene and MacRae in the UK.
