These are the guiding principles underlying the UK Government's approach to EU measures, aimed at maximising the UK's influence in Brussels and ending the goldplating of EU legislation in the UK.

Under plans announced on 30 June 2011 by the UK Business Minister, Mark Prisk, three new ‘Operating Principles’ set out how the UK could exert early influence over legislation coming from the European Union.
