There is little point in trying to calm consumer fears about mad cow disease while MEPs remain deeply and publicly alarmed at the wider implications: British Conservative member Robert Sturdy is so concerned that he has called for an overhaul of the “EU's scared cow - the CAP”. Scared indeed, and maybe sacred, too.
