EurActiv reported on the 5 August 2014 that according to an unknown source in the European Union parts of the Commission Work Programme 2013 were blocked by the President of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, and his secretary-general Catherine Day. The unknown source mentioned intentional delays in Endocrine disruptors, Bioenergy and Timber Regulation.
