Hungary’s prime minister has vowed to restore the country’s 'lost economic self-rule', rejecting a fresh deal with the International Monetary Fund and resisting calls for more austerity.

After the collapse of budget talks with the IMF and European Union earlier in July 2010, Viktor Orban told Hungary's parliament on the 22 July 2010 that relations with international financial institutions re­quired 'a new perspective'.
