The International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced on 3 April 2017 the completion of the third review of Ukraine's economic programme under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF). This enables the disbursement of around $1 billion as part of the loan agreed with the country.

The IMF Executive Board also concluded the 2016 Article IV consultation with Ukraine.

The country's EFF programme was approved in March 2015 to support the government's economic programme, which aims to put the economy on the path of recovery, restore external sustainability, strengthen public finances, maintain financial stability, and support economic growth by advancing structural and governance reforms, while protecting the most vulnerable.
