Article reports that the International Monetary Fund inched towards greater involvement in Greece’s efforts to resolve its budget crisis, January 2010, as it announced that it would send a technical mission to Athens.

The mission would the Greek government on pension reform, tax policy, tax collection and budgetary controls – but would not have any role in developing or vetting Greece’s fiscal consolidation plan.
