IMF warns European Central Bank that rapid rate rise could hit growth

The European Central Bank received a warning from the International Monetary Fund on 19 April 2006 not to raise interest rates too swiftly, as growth in the eurozone depended on export demand and was vulnerable to further oil price rises.
