This papers gives a presentation of the issue of political participation. In particular, it offers an overview of 'political participation' in relation to immigrants. It suggests that, despite the qualities registered within the method of ethnicity and collective mobilization, the 'top-down-approach' is advantageous in any national policy aimed at the integration of immigrants within the host community.
