Non-binding Resolution from the European Parliament on the implementation of Regulation (EC) No 1/2005 on the protection of transported animals within and outside the European Union (EU).

Further information:

The Resolution urges the European Union and its member states to enforce existing rules on protecting transported animals better and to penalise all ofenders.

The European Parliament's agricultural committee approved the initiative on 24 January 2019, reiterating a previous call for a strong and harmonised enforcement of a Regulation from 2005 on the protection of animals during transport, which was seen to be poorly applie in some Member States.
