Implementing the European directive on the activities and supervision of institutions for occupational retirement provision: A consultation paper

The Directive on the Activities and Supervision of Institutions for Occupational Retirement Provision (Directive 2003/41/EC) provides a framework for the operation and supervision of occupational pension schemes. It is an important element of the Financial Services Action Plan and represents a first step towards a single market for occupational retirement provision. Member states have until September 2005 to comply with the Directive. The UK Government therefore published this consultation document on 28 October 2003. Deadline for responses: 23 December 2003.
