The UK Government is continually looking to improve the way European proposals are formulated, negotiated and implemented. This report contains a set of recommendations for UK policy-makers on best practice in handling European legislation. It draws together the results of a Pilot Quality Assurance Study, which tracked four European proposals over a six month period, and a conference on transposition, which brought together policy-makers, academics and business representatives.
