Industry urges faster EU reform

Leading industrialists have criticised European governments for failing to implement reforms to enhance competitiveness. In advance of the European Council, Stockholm, 23-24.3.01, the European Round Table of Industrialists (ERT), grouping 46 of Europe's top business leaders, sent 10 recommendations to the European Union heads of state expressing alarm at Europe's continuing skills shortage, lack of progress in completing the internal market and failure to reform European pension systems.
