INTERNAL market chief Frits Bolkestein is warning that an EU probe into the near collapse of the Lloyd's of London insurance business could be delayed by new complaints from investors.

In a letter to former 'name' John Pascoe, who sparked an inquiry into the UK govern-ment's role in the affair, the Commissioner hints that any action may be months away.

Pascoe says Bolkestein should not be distracted from what he claims is "black and white" evidence that Lloyd's circumvented a law based on an EU insurance directive.
