Integration in criminal matters and the role of the Court of Justice

Considers whether the European Court of Justice should fulfil the same role in promoting legal integration in criminal matters involving police and judicial co-operation as it does in respect of the Single Market.

Discusses the court's role in market integration, the role of rights as a source of legitimacy and the nature of integration in criminal matters under the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union.
